Lori

Lori

My name is Lori and I am the owner of Run Stop. I opened the store in August of 2020 to meet the needs of our local running community. I personally had been driving an hour to visit the nearest running store for almost 10 years and felt Hot Springs, with its large road and trail running community, needed its very own! I began running at 36 years old and over the past 10 years have completed more than 10 marathons, 40 half marathons, and numerous 5k/10k races. I have a passion for running and the friendships formed through this sport and want everyone that walks through our door to feel that. You will always be greeted by our friendly, funny, and knowledgeable staff. We hope to help you find the perfect pair of shoes, the right gear for your walk, run, or hike, or the perfect performance/athleisure outfit to make you feel comfortable and confident! See you soon!

Hi! We are store managers and assist with security duties. We work limited hours, weekly scheduled around our snack and napping schedules. If we are on duty when you visit us, we will be happy to show you a favorite shoe based on flavor and texture preferences. Since we have extremely short legs and have difficulty with pacing, running is not something we thoroughly enjoy. Something we really excel at is the post race feast and nap. Come see us!

Angie

I am a lifelong Hot Springs resident. Hot Springs National Park and the surrounding downtown areas are some of my favorite places. I grew up roaming the trails and sidewalks of the city and jumped at the chance to work at Run Stop. I'm a “people person,” and enjoy selling shoes and talking to customers about the wonderful sites of the place I am proud to call home.

My time away from the shop is spent with Jeff, my husband of 25 years, and our two daughters. We are also small business owners and are currently in the process of renovating 2 historic buildings. Outside of work I spend my time shuttling between the girls' volleyball games and volunteering with several Hot Springs community service organizations.

I'm originally from Wichita Falls, TX…but life in the Marine Corps has taken me all over the country! (California, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Iraq, Texas, Buffalo, New Jersey) Retiring in 2022 and moving to Durango, Colorado to work on my mountain ultra legs!!

March 2013 was my first ever half marathon (San Diego Half), and before that, I HATED running, but ever since then I have been hooked and have run over 20 full marathons/ultra-marathons, and 10 half-marathons. Since 2014, I have ran at least 1,000 miles per year, a streak I hope to keep up for as long as I can! My favorite distance is probably the half, because it’s far, but not too far so you can push the pace a little bit…my best distance is the 5k, and it’s the only distance I get a tad competitive about. My ultimate goals are to run a sub 19 minute 5k, and to qualify for Boston before turning 45.

I grew up in Los Angeles, joined the Army at 23, and received my Masters degree from John's Hopkins University. I absolutely love all things dogs and love to work at the store because it gives me a chance to meet so many different people and a reason to stay active.

My name is Taylor Werst and I was born and raised in Hot Springs, AR. I have been running since I was thrown into Cross Country in the 6th grade at Lake Hamilton middle school. I have loved running ever since. My current running goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I am an aviation major at Henderson State University. I love working at the Runstop because it’s not really a job for me. I am able to talk about something I love all day, running.
